Tutoring FAQs

ASC/Special Programs Tutoring: FAQs

Tutor Center hours?

The ASC Tutoring Center will open for the limited subjects during the Summer 2024 semester.
We will offer online and in-person hours on weekdays between working hours (Monday-Thursday from 9am-5pm and Friday closed). During open hours, we can provide help in algebra, statistics, English, writing, and Spanish.

Do you offer drop-in help?

Yes! Check out the schedule to see if there is an available tutor for the subject you need. Drop-in help is available in-person or online.

Can I make a tutoring appointment?

Yes!
Tutoring appointments may be scheduled to last up to 1 hour. To find out if a tutor is available in the subject you need, or to schedule a tutoring appointment, please call 707-476-4154 or email ASC-Staff@redwoods.edu

Students can schedule appointments up to 2 weeks in advance.

How often can I make an appointment?

You can make up to 3 appointments per week.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Please sign the Tutoring Contract before your first appointment.
  • Please arrive early to allow time to check in.
  • Bring your class notes and textbook!
  • Take a moment to identify topics or specific problems you want to work on with your tutor. Sometimes figuring out what you don't know can also be a problem! Being prepared with specific questions will maximize your one-on-one time with your tutor!

Where are the tutoring sessions?

Tutoring sessions are in-person in the LRC part of the library. You can also join us remotely through our Zoom tutoring room
