Keynote Panel
CR faculty and staff will provide information and insights to the questions you posed in a recent survey. The panel will address questions such as what planning is taking place for spring, and how is being done to address students’ technology needs.

Redwoods IT will provide a brief overview of technology changes and access for Fall 2020. Including access to Office 365 and Adobe resources. Upcoming password changes and email quotas will also be discussed. The presentation will then pivot to a discussion and demonstration of Electronic Document creation and use presented.

After a summer of professional development talking about equity, we've gathered strategies and lessons from the conversations and complied them into an "Equity Playbook." In this session, we'll take a look at this resource and discuss ways to support all our students when implementing these high impact strategies in our online classes.

The LRC may be closed, but the library is open for business! We have an expanded library presence in Canvas, a new catalog interface with greatly increased resources, and new online databases to explore. We’ll also look at how to include articles, videos, and other resources in your courses online; options for your students to access reserve materials; and ways to get research assistance and library instruction in an online environment.

This session provides a basic tutorial about the Program Review process and the fields contained in the template. It is designed to assist program personnel in addressing the different parts of the form

These are some of the benefits of being part of a “Community of Practice.” When organized effectively, CoPs offer supportive, non-hierarchical learning opportunities that go beyond mere “training.” Join some members of the English 1S CoP to learn more—and be ready to brainstorm how you might create or support a CoP in your discipline or area of interest—and among students, too.

This session will provide a brief overview of the local approval process for distance education this fall before focusing on the needs of attendees through Q&A and individualized support in eLumen.

This session will provide an overview of assessment related information for the upcoming academic year. Topics include the new assessment cycles, assessment, program review, outcome mapping, and the second eLumen for assessment pilot. The session will end with an evaluation of CR’s ILO #1: Academic and Career Technical Objectives.

Session will cover current threats to your personal and professional identity; including phishing and social engineering as well as methods to avoid getting snagged by these tactics

The purpose of the Correspondence Education (CE) FLEX session is to provide fall CE faculty at Humboldt County Correctional Facility and Pelican Bay State Prison with additional support before the start of the fall semester. With an emphasis on building mindful rapport with students – Week 1 and onward – through a CE modality, this session will cultivate a space to share information, generate ideas, and address any “burning questions” before courses begin. Like other CE support Zoom sessions, this will be recorded and posted, along with the session’s Chat notes, to the “Correspondence Training and Support” page on our Keep Teaching CE module. If you are unable to attend the live FLEX session, you will still be able to access the session's content.

Faculty and staff (including counseling and advising folks): Come ask questions about English and math courses and the changes that have happened over the last few semesters with respect to AB 705, support courses (now with synchronous sessions), support courses for CHEM, math review and teas prep courses.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records and applies to all schools that receive federal funds. In this session, we'll review the law and discuss how it applies to CR as a whole, and then address some particular issues that require attention in a fully online environment. Bring your questions!
