British literature refers to literature associated with the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. This includes literature from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. This subject includes historical views of British writers over time. For some, this includes works by authors from Northern Ireland. Information on British Literature will be useful to anyone enrolled in a class, in a degree or certificate program, for additional or supplemental information for any course or program, for research projects that focus on topics in the subject, or for personal interest, enjoyment, and enrichment.
These are some of the terms that students may need for a British Literature research project. Other terms may be useful in addition to those listed below. Use specific words. Use only one or two words. Try both plural and singular forms. Try varying combinations. Use Authors, names, and pseudonyms as well as the titles of their works.

The search terms listed above can be used in Google, but you'll find more reliable and authoritative sources searching either in the library's OneSearch Catalog or in Credo Reference, an online collection of reference and research sources.
