The CR Library is one of the best resources you have for academic success.  This guide outlines the many services available to students that can help you with your courses and your research.  If you have a question, please stop and talk with our staff or click on the "More Help" tab for other ways to contact us.

RETURNING LIBRARY BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT
Library books and DVDs may be returned in the book drop to the right of the front doors at any time.  Equipment checked out from the library must be returned in person.

Many classes have assignments that require students to locate reliable sources of information. Students often assume this information will be easy to locate on the web, but that's not always true. If you're having trouble finding the materials you need, our librarians and library staff are ready to help you find what you need to complete your assignments, whether in the library or on the internet.

What can we do for you?

• The CR Library has over 95K books, eBooks, DVDs, and other items that can be borrowed, including headphones, flash drives, calculators, laptops, study roooms
• We also have 37 online research databases, which are searched by students about 75K times per year
• Our librarians and library staff answer about 18.5K questions per year
• The librarians at the Reference Desk are faculty, just like your professors, with advanced degrees in library science - the art of "finding things out"

Any registered student at College of the Redwoods is entitled to use all library resources, including checking out circulating books, use of reserve textbooks, use of  the library's computers and printing equipment, and accessing electronic resources from on and off campus. 

• A photo ID (college ID, driver's license, passport, etc.) is necessary to check out items for use.
• In some cases, accessing resources from off-campus will require students to authenticate by entering their CR email address or other information before use of the resources. 

Students with outstanding overdues or fines greater than a certain limit may have their privileges temporarily revoked until their records are cleared with the library.  For more information about library loan periods, fines, etc., please see the "Loan Periods, Fees, and Fines" tab.
