Remote Sensing is the science of collecting data about the Earth without touching it. Remote Sensing can be about the Earth’s surface or atmosphere and relies on different technologies to gather data and gain a deeper understanding of the surface of our planet and its atmosphere (Stow & Stow, 2010). Remote Sensing is broad or far-reaching, in that, it can apply to many aspects of life and society, such as, agriculture, forestry, hydrology, wildlife conservation/ecology, air pollution, Oceanography, Climate Change, and much more.

One of the best resources is the college’s discovery system, OneSearch. You can use OneSearch to look for peer-reviewed, open access articles as well as books and videos. Check out the OneSearch page in the research guide for instructions on how to locate peer-reviewed and open access articles. There is a tab at the top of the page for each topic and a separate tab with handouts that you can download, see figure 1.

The college also has several databases with scholarly, remote sensing articles. For early stages of your research, when you are gathering information and trying to finalize your topic it might be useful to use,
