The CR library offers several ways to access videos for research and educational opportunities.
1. DVD's are available in the on One Search Catalog and you must call Circulation at 707-476-4262 to check them out.
2. AVON or Academic Videos On-Line are streaming videos that can be checked out from our One Search Catalog.
3. Films on Demand are through an additional company available to check out from our One Search Catalog
4. Youtube offers a variety of information, but be sure to use citations appropriately and check with your instructor about how the content can be appropriate in regards to the class syllabus.
Academic Video Online (AVON) is a video database available by subscription to libraries. CR Library provides this database free to students and college employees. Off-campus or wireless access users will be prompted to login with their WebAdvisor ID and eight digit birthdate.
AVON delivers ~68,000 titles spanning a range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. See the “channels” list with links below.
Videos in the database are primarily academic and related to courses and programs, and formats include: documentaries, interviews, feature films, performances, news programs and newsreels, demonstrations, and raw footage, previously unavailable archival material, thousands of award-winning films, including Academy®, Emmy®, and Peabody® winners. New material is added regularly.
Videos listed below include DVDs in the library collection as well as streaming videos available online from one of our library databases.
Note: Even though we are closed for most in-person use during Fall 2020, DVDs can still be checked out by calling the library at 707-476-4260 to request the item(s) you want. Requested items can either be picked up in person by arrangement or they can be mailed to your house.
